mARTEdì: Pitigliano, Dante & Handpainted Summer

FullSizeRender copy 2_edited-1

Made in May at Il Bisonte with the Printmaking Sisters’ workshop from the photo below, which I took in June 2012.
Pitigliano was the first Tuscan town I visited when I came on my life-changing holiday.

The photo from my first visit to Firenze. I arrived the day of the Calcio Storico, a gloriously dusty, violent medieval quasi-football game in 45°C heat. I met my love-to-be on the steps below Dante.

“…he saw, he saw:
you fell once and I a thousand times more”

Handpainting Summer

And finally…Last week I hand coloured “L’Estate” with watercolour and I’m impressed by the details that come forward. I need to add a few more shadows and adjust the sky, and then sign it. In the coming weeks I’ll put it on Etsy.

A presto,
Cheers & Ciao,
Ali 🙂
